Sleek Mediterranean collection: Monaco palette

Whilst picking up my Santorini blush from Superdrug last week I also picked up the Monaco palette (I left the lip conditioner, it just seemed a bit meh to me.)

The colours in this palette are a real mix, which appealed to me a lot, there were far too many similar colours in the Avoir La Peche collection palette, not to mention more oranges than a sane person could realistically use in one lifetime.

I loved the artwork on the box of this palette, its so pretty, its a huge shame they’ve not put the artwork on the actual palette like they have with the blush. It’d make identifying all my different ones (I have four or five now) so much easier!

However the lettering seems to be wearing off the case already, and I’ve only had it a few days :S Its rubbing off where it says Mediterranean… boo!

My other complaint about the sleek palettes is that the darn shadows are so easy to shatter! I dropped mine and one of the shadows broke a bit, one of the colours in my peach palette has completely shattered.

There are a lot of mattes in this palette, and for the most part they’re awesome, two of them lack pigmentation but meh, two out of 12 ain’t bad, right?

I love the selection of colours in this palette! The only ones I felt a bit meh about, just from looking at the palette, is the peach on the top row (I don’t need anymore oranges!! Lol) and the khaki colour on the bottom row.

The colours I’m loving in the palette: the turquoise on the top row (I reminds me of MAC’s Moodring shadow, from the Heatherette 1 trio) and the navy, the navy is matte and so pigmented! I’m also loving the Aqua and lilac from the bottom row.

The colours I’m not loving so much are the pink from the top row and the khaki and green from the bottom row, these lacked pigmentation and the pink and khaki especially, have a very chalky texture and are difficult to blend.

Overall: A nice palette, although some of the shadows don’t have the best quality, the rest are awesome and well worth the £7 price tag.
