MUA have seriously made me want their latest “Undress your skin”collection, and when I saw this on introductory offer for just £2, well. I had to have it.

Undress your skin is a pretty baked powder, the base colour is a lovely champagne colour, however the shimmer definitely has a pink tone to it, making it better suited to cooler skin tones.

The texture is lovely for a highlighter, its pigmented but not too over the top (the swatch below shows several layers of colour). While it would be too much as a finishing powder, it is a lovely brow bone and cheekbone highlighter.

And for just £2, well. What are you waiting for? If you like your highlighters, you NEED this in your life.

I’m back from my blogging hiatus, I feel like I’ve got my inspiration and my mojo back

I’ve also not bought a lot of makeup in the recent months, one of the first things I have bought is Sleek’s Mirrored Pink blush from their new Aqua collection.

This is listed on the Sleek website, I got this from my local superdrug store. It retails for £4.49

Sleek describes this as “reflective, gleaming pink shade that gives a lustrous shine to skin” It is definitely a high shine blush, it almost looks like it belongs in the 80′s! However I love it! But I am a glitter/shimmer addict.

This texture of this is fantastic, incredibly pigmented and smooth texture.

Its a lovely spring/summer blush but due to the super shiny finish of this, its not going to be for everyone.

What do you think? Love it or should shiny blushes have been left in the 80′s?

My sale bargains of the year have to be my Giorgio Armani stuff I got from Harrods.com

The first thing from that sale I want to show you is Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill in number 17.

This silver was released as part of the Fall/Winter 2012 collection and is now pretty hard to find apart from the Harrods website. Where its marked down from £24.50 to £11.50, not bad, but when I bought it it was only £5.25 and now for some reason the price has gone up (go figure!).

Giorgio Armani describe these as “Eyes to Kill intense presents an innovative approach to eye shadow that combines superior colour with long lasting wear.

Experience super shine, high voltage colour that glides on and vibrates around the clock. Super easy to use, it can be applied wet or dry, with fingers or a brush.”

These do have the strangest consistency! It is a powder but when I put my finger in the pot to swatch, it feels more like a cream!

It is a metallic silver with silver and darker grey sparkles. The amount of sparkles isn’t enough to make you look like a glitterbomb, but it is enough to cause a little bit of fallout.

I have one other Eyes to Kill shadow, which is number 1 (see my review here). And there is a definite difference in pigmentation, my Blast of Blue is more pigmented. And to be honest, more of a unique colour. I love some of the Eyes to Kill shades where they have clashing colours that blend together to produce beautiful results. This one is a bit more meh in terms of that.

But the texture is lovely, very smooth. I do like it, just glad I didn’t pay full price for it.

So I’m back from my christmas min hiatus, I’ve been so busy!

And I’ve got so much to talk about, with christmas collections, xmas pressies and sale bargains! My first post has to be the Stila Snow Angel palette though.

12 blushes, 18 eyeshadows. And the pretty pattern, love!

This has been reduced now in the UK and is £20.65 from the Stila UK website but unfortunately its still full price on the Stila USA site ($39) :( Boo!

I haven’t reviewed the mascara in this set as I haven’t used it yet, I’ve got another mascara on the go at the moment.

The blushes are round the edge of the palette, with the eyeshadows in the middle.

Each colour has a name and a number, for ease of this review, I’ve labelled each colour with their corresponding number, and then you can match the colour in the pan with the swatch.

The blushes are a 50/50 split with mattes and shimmers, the mattes are definitely harder to work with than the shimmers. 2 and 10 have some pigmentation issues. But for the most part, they are amazing and with a lovely range of colours from peaches and browns to reds and pinks.

The eyeshadows are mainly shimmers and frosts with one or two mattes mixed in. There are a few ones with pigmentation issues here too, 15, 17 and 21 are seriously lacking. But again, they’re mostly good,28 for instance is an amazing black, so pigmented and its not blue or grey. 25 and 26 are also among my favourites in this palettes.

I think we can safely say 2012 was the year of the neutral palettes, and this is another one that for the most part, is awesome.

Check below for swatches.

On my recent trip to London that I discussed a few posts ago (with my Inglot rainbow post) I also picked up one item from The Make Up Store, the High Tech Lighter in Stardust.

I love the packaging of this, it looks sleek and sophisticated, it comes in a screw top jar.

This is a white with pink reflects to it, if you’re familiar with MAC’s Pink Opal pigment, this is similar in colour.

However, this is rather sheer, the white base barely shows up at all, although the pink reflects can be quite strong.

These are listed as eyeshadows, but I bought this to be used on both the eyes and also as a highlighter. As an eyeshadow base, it doesn’t crease but due to how sheer it is, it doesn’t really add anything if you layer colours over it, and its too sheer to use alone. It does make a nice brow highlight though.

I prefer to use it as a highlighter, its really difficult to over apply this. It gives a lovely pink glow that is perfect for cool toned ladies like myself.

Swatch and product photo below, my camera did not want to focus at all the product, I think it was too much solid white for my camera.

These retail at £11.00 for 1.2g of product. Fame is a shimmery light beige with pink and blue sparkles. The formula of this is awesome, its smooth and pigmented and blends so nicely, love it!

But… I hate the packaging of this, the teeny tiny little hole, the product gets everywhere.

Today it’s time for me to dig something that’s been sat on my “to be reviewed” pile for a good few months.

I was super excited about LUSH’s Emotional Brilliance collection, I got two pieces from it, this eyeliner and a lipstick which I am also yet to review.

Feeling Secure is described as “a rich, regal purple.” Personally I love purple eyeliners as they really bring out the green in my eyes. This one is a lovely bright purple with red reflects to it, I love it!

All of the products in the Emotional Brilliance collection come in glass containers and come with applications, I actually like this eyeliner applicator for the most part, the tip is thin and flexible which makes it easy to do fine, even lines. The only part I don’t like is the screw part, its bulky and can get in the way, I wish there was a way to separate the applicator from the screw top.

The formula is good, its opaque and dries in a reasonable amount of time, in case you want to blend it, I just have to sit with my eyes closed for around 30 seconds to avoid making a hot mess.

Once dry it lasts all day without flaking or disappearing, which I line, however it is not waterproof, so bare that in mind.

Here is another piece I hauled from my Cosmetics Fairy Order

This cost me £2.49, and were also on 3 for 2, so I got three different quads for just under £5.

This quad is a mix of purples, silvers and blacks, right up my alley

In terms of quality, this quad is a real mixed bag, the best colour in the quad is the silver, its amazingly pigmented and so metallic! However the purple is a total let down, its stiff and really poorly pigmented, in the swatch below I had to layer up three layers of colour.

The grey and the black are nice, have good opacity and blendability but aren’t anything too special.

Overall, I like this quad but I’m just not super excited by it, it leaves me just meh :S

Yayyyyyyy!! OCC have finally released sparkly lip tars!

OCC’s Metallurgy lip tars from their holiday collection consists of six metallic shades. I got three of them.

Here’s OCC’s description in these “Apply even less product than usual in this newest iteration of our groundbreaking Lip Tar™ formula for a fully metallized lip look. Use the newly-included #010S Short Handled Professional Lip Brush for perfect, complete coverage.”

I do love these, they are metallic, I love it. Electric Grandma also is choc full for gold glitter too, it doesn’t look too noticeable when you first apply it, but when it starts to wear off you can really notice it.

As with all lip tars these are opaque, easy to apply and long lasting, between six and eight hours depending on the shade.

I also love the the brush that is included with these now, especially as this hasn’t meant there has been in increase in price, they are the perfect size for applying lip tars, small and thin, they make it easy to do crisp lines and also filling in and mixing colours.

Iced is described as “pure white frost metallic” and this is bang on, its a frosty version of feathered. This isn’t a shade that is meant to be worn alone, I bought it to mix with some of my other lip tars, I’m looking forward to mixing this with Nylon to make a metallic baby pink.

This was a bit less opaque and a little harder to get even than the other two were, as seen below, but as its going to be mixed with other shades, this is OK as it won’t be noticeable when mixed.

Electric Grandma is described as “a metallic sequel to grandma, our classic coral” This is a metallic version of grandma chock full of gold glitter.

Super NSFW is “a metallic sequel to NSFW, our truest red” This is also glittery but is much finer, its a fine gold sparkle that makes this perfect for the holiday season. Reds are super hard to get crisp lines on, I would personally use a red liner before applying this to make the lines extra crisp.

I love OCC! I just had to try the crème colour concentrates.

These currently come in just three colours, but I imagine that like most OCC products, this range will expand.

I thought it was expensive at $20/£14.95, but these do come in a large pot and contains 8g/0.282oz of product.

OCC describe these as “The newest innovation from OCC, Crème Colour Concentrate is a smooth, blendable, buildable crème coverage product that’s gorgeous on the eyes, lips and cheeks or wherever saturated, creamy colour is desired!”

The shade Miriam was described “subdued whitened plum” which is a pale shade that is somewhere in between baby pink and lavender, it has definite grey tones in there too, which make it just a bit deathly when used on the lips.

These are so creamy and pigmented, I have tried them on the eyes, lips and face. As a cream shadow, on my oily lids this does creased when used alone, it definitely needs a primer and a shadow to set it. On the lips these are nice, a tad drying on but they do last a good while, five to six hours. I would use this on the lips, over a brighter lip liner or lipstick to mute the lip liner a bit.

Overall: A good product, I’d love to see OCC expand the colour range of these though as its rather limited.

Swatches and close ups
